So remember that insanely hard test I took?
Apparently I did good at it. I think the problem was the test was insanely hard for an entry-level position, and I was the only one who did decent at it. The company headquarters called me in, and it seemed clear from their language that no one else was able to do well on the test.  But anyway… apparently it’s an hourly position. Which is some bull, because for an entry-level position...

Bricks and Mortar and Chewing Gum: Yeah →
bricksandmortarandchewinggum: How dare the media discuss Lolo Jones’ virginity after Lolo Jones revealed said virginity in a television interview that she knew would be watched by thousands. I don’t have a problem with her discussing it but it’s a bit maddening that apparently no one is allowed to ever comment on it ever… The most annoying part of that article to me is that the author...

Fucking Shit Ass Fuck Dammit
A few weeks ago, I applied for a position at a company’s corporate headquarters that isn’t far from where I live (before I got my current job, which isn’t a temporary job in title, but is a temporary job in that it’s not something I can stay at very long — it only pays $13 an hour or so). Anyways, I didn’t get the job, but they kept my information since they...

Ugh... privileged morons.
I write for a site that caters to a lot of privileged idiots who don’t realize their privilege. I mean, that’s not the purpose of the site — it has a specific category of news it focuses on — but it’s upsetting to see people so willfully ignorant of their economic status and the fact that the overwhelming majority are white guys. So, anyway, these guys are now...

House Series Finale
Holy crap… the preview got me a little emotional, not gonna lie. And I’m definitely not an “emotional” person. I can’t believe I’ve been watching this show for eight years of my life.

i'm in no hurry to grow up.: Save 'Awake' →
lifeisjustahallucination: NBC has recently cancled the best show ever, Awake. “Awake” is an intriguing drama about a detective (Jason Isaacs, “Harry Potter,” “Brotherhood”) who finds he is leading an arduous double life that defies reality. Following a tragic car accident, detective Michael Britten finds himself awake…

Jobs: Wow, It's an Incredibly Depressing Time to... →
I’m immensely disappointed at how a large chunk of comments on a Jezebel article about how recent college graduates have a hard time finding work are recommending the “pull yerself up by yer bootstraps!” line of rationale. I worked on the student newspaper, had two full-time internships, graduated in three years (while a member of multiple student organizations and an...

Holy Crap
Awake is fucking amazing tonight. I’m so bummed that it’s going to get canceled. Part of my brain is trying to tell the rational half that maybe NBC will renew it, but my rational half knows better. Seriously, this is the best new show since the first season of Lost. Television watchers around the United States, I’m disappointed in you.

Got a Job
Yesterday I went for a job at a newspaper, and I start today (leave in about 30 minutes). It pays shit (hourly), but I need something at this point. Hopefully it won’t be a long-term thing, but I love writing, so at least it’ll be something I enjoy.

Job Search: Part Blah
So I had applied for a marketing job from a large corporation headquartered near where I live, and they called me back the day after I applied. This was last week. They told me in a week they’d be contacting the top three candidates (I was one of the top ten) and setting up an in-person interview, and that they’d also call the others and let them know they weren’t selected for...
